USA 2023-24

Updated: Apr 15, 2023

Much is at stake for the US beyond its reputation as the global superpower which has taken some major dents over the past few years and more significantly since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war. China, Russia and other nations with BRICS are posing a serious threat to USD as a reserve currency. If countries look beyond the dollar and trade in their own currencies, naturally the need for holding a reserve currency will be marginal and it might pave the way for some other currency to become the lead reserve currency.

Aries Ingress 2023

With Mercury in the 8th house, the rising sign Virgo becomes inherently weak indicating the waywardness of the nation. Mercury is the significator of banking and financial systems of the nation and it is in the 8th house of Aries and has a mutual reception from Mars which is placed in Gemini. A configuration with the 8th ruler is not all that great and it shows that the US might stumble in major ways.

While the weakness of Mercury shows the vulnerability of the nation and also indicates the financial crisis of the nation. This is further cemented by the placement of Ketu in the 2nd house and Rahu in the 8th house. It’s an indicator of a major financial slowdown, especially with Ketu in the 2nd house. Rahu in the 8th shows other people’s money and we can conclude that anyone who has investments in the US is at a major risk of losing their money.

The AC applies to Mars in the 10th house and this is a major indication of war tensions and rash decision making at the top level. Mercury is the ruler of the 10th house and is descriptive of the King (President) in this chart but Mercury is in the 8th house showing the vulnerability and weakness of the king. Mars in the 10th house shows the amount of damage that the US government could do for its reputation on the global stage. Mars in the 10th house also shows the war tensions that the nation might be part of throughout the year.

Venus, ruling the 2nd and the 9th house is strongly placed in the 9th house. Despite being out of sect, Venus has dignity and it should play a role. The 9th house is the house of foreign diplomacy and the US will be strong in their foreign policies. They will be moving forward in ways that they did not do earlier. Much was lost in 2022-23 where they lost their status in the Middle East followed by Japanese shifts in their own policies towards purchasing energy from Russia. Venus in the 9th house also shows the vast wealth of the USA that’s been accumulated over many years.

Mars is opposing the Moon which is placed in the 4th house of Sagittarius which is an indication that the shootings amongst their own people is going to continue and is only likely to increase. The MC afflicted by the 8th ruler is an indication of the wrong and an impulsive path that the government might take which is not going to please the people. The people will confront and express their dissatisfaction at some point during the year. It might well be a prelude to the elections in the US due next year.

Saturn strongly placed in the 6th house shows the prominence of enmity, debts and diseases. As indicated by Mercury’s placement, the financial situation will worsen and the vulnerability of the USD will continue but this year might not see the emergence of new currency. The BRICS might not take shape this year in terms of a new currency as Venus is strong in the 9th house. However, Venus almost exactly squares Saturn and it will create some dent in some areas especially in terms of foreign diplomacy. Yet, USD will be a major reserve currency during this year as well. Having said, the threat to the USD and gradual decline will continue to be there. The nodes with Mercury will trigger a major economic slowdown for the US since the 2008 financial crisis. In a way, it had already started with SVB but then, it has just started. The main picture is yet to unfold!
