I was born and brought up in Chennai, India. I received Bachelors of Commerce degree in 2009, Master of Business Administration in Finance in 2011 and Master of Arts in Labour Management in 2018. Since October 2011, I have been working in the financial services industry.

Astrological Background
Every art and investigation, and likewise every practical pursuit or undertaking, seems to aim at some good: hence it has been well said that the good is that at which all things aim. (The Nicomachean Ethics by Aristotle). The philosophy behind the sentence is, Aristotle says that we all involve in some action with an aim to do good. The idea of good, however, may be objectively personal, good is what it is! I do astrology with an aim to do good to anyone that requires my help in decoding the cosmic language which contains answers to various riddles of life.
Hailing from a family of astrologers, my foray into astrology was not by choice but destiny. Naturally my foundation was Jyotisa supported by some familial methods that I hope finetunes my abuility to forecast or predict. Though I started Jyotisa in 2011, I got hooked to Hellenistic and Medieval Persian astrology in 2017. Since then, my practice and research has been a blend of all three forms of ancient traditions. Initially, I learnt astrology from my maternal granduncle Shri. G. Gurumoorthy Iyer who carefully guided me through the art by teaching me many nuances that helped me do my own work with predictive astrology. Since my active entry into the astrological community in 2017, I have been supported and helped by some really good people who have only made me a better astrologer and a human being. I am always grateful to them.

Along with The Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads, I am also slowly exploring the works of some Greek philosophers, which helps me realize that life was always looked as the same by everyone but from different perspectives. Understanding the philosophical underpinnings of various astrological traditions only enriches my understanding of astrology and the tradition itself!

Aswin Subramanyan, a humble student of Jyotisa, traces his astrological lineage through a rich maternal heritage that spans at least 350 years, delves into the traditions beyond his roots in Jyotisa, and discovers immense worth in Hellenistic and Medieval Persian astrology, striving to incorporate their wisdom into his evolving practice carefully rooted to the ancient traditions. His contributions include the book "Firdaria - Periods of Life" and co-authorship of the book, "Astrology by Moonlight". With gratitude, Aswin acknowledges the global reach of his articles, published in various international platforms. Currently, he feels honored to serve as the editor for the journal published by the Association for Professional Astrologers International (APAI). Sharing his insights as a lecturer, Aswin has had the privilege of contributing to conferences and events worldwide, recognizing and enjoying the collaborative nature of astrological communities. Online, he maintains a blog focusing on natal and mundane astrology, hoping they may be of some value to enthusiasts.
