Why this Jyotisa Course?
This course will be a clear, tradition-rooted introduction to Astrological philosophy, planets, houses, aspects and other foundations to understand life through Indian astrology. This 5-week course offers a straightforward introduction to the core principles of Jyotisa, the system of Indian astrology based on the sidereal zodiac. It is meant for beginners to Indian astrology coming from other traditions or absolute beginners to astrology who want a clear understanding of how Indian astrology works. Across five sessions, we’ll cover the structure of the chart, the role of the planets, the meaning of houses, the basics of yogas including other functional roles of the planets that’s unique to Jyotish. The final session will be dedicated to chart reading exercises primarily to understand the subject from a practical standpoint. There will be one additional session focussing on Q&A for 1 hour and basic chart reading exercise for the next hour. The material is practical, structured, and based on core classical ideas. The goal is to build a solid foundation for those who want to make an entry into Jyotisa.
