In my series of writing about predicting with Firdãriã, I am continuing with another event which is Ritchie Valens’ death when he was just 17 years old on 03rd February 1959.
Before jumping into the Fardãrs of Ritchie Valens, we need to see whether the native has a shortened life span. A few important things we need to consider are:

Condition of the Lord of the Ascendant
8th house
Condition of the Lord of the 8th house
Saturn and its condition in the nativity
The Moon and its condition
Having said, there are many other things that we may have to check before deciding upon the lifespan of the nativity, but there are some of the basic factors that we must consider before concluding.

Aquarius was rising when Ritchie was born, and Saturn is the ruler of the Ascendant. With the Sun below the horizon, Saturn becomes a difficult planet, but still Saturn is the ruler of the Ascendant. However, we also have to notice that Saturn also rules the 12th house of Aquarius rising natives; hence, Saturn is not a completely beneficial planet just because it rules the Ascendant. Saturn’s condition is extremely important for a native to have a long lifespan because Saturn, besides being the ruler of the Ascendant in this nativity, also is the natural significator of longevity.
Saturn is placed in the 3rd house of Aries, which is also its fall. We can argue that Saturn is received by the Sun from a position of strength (Sun’s exaltation), but Saturn and the Sun conjunction is not so good, especially if either of them rules the Ascendant. So, Saturn is in a very disgusted state because of its position in fall with the Sun.
Virgo is the 8th house and the ruler of the 8th house, Mercury is in the 4th house of Taurus along with Venus and Jupiter. This is probably the reason the native lived for as long as he did. Yet, this is not enough for the native to live for long enough because the Moon is also debilitated in Scorpio. Most of the basic conditions of a long life in a nativity is not seen in Ritchie Valens’ birth chart. So, it is almost a destiny that the native had to go so soon.
Fardãr: Saturn & Distributor: Mercury
Saturn, the ruler of the Ascendant is placed in the 3rd house of Aries in debilitation. Apart from its conjunction with the Sun, Saturn is also in a whole sign sextile with the ruler of the 3rd house, Mars. Saturn also squares the lot of death in Capricorn. Importantly, Saturn also rules the lot of death because of its placement in Capricorn, which is the 12th house of this nativity. As I have said in many posts, 12th house plays some role in signifying an end to things no matter what they are.
Mercury, the distributing planet is in the 4th house and Mercury is squared by Mars, which is placed in the 1st house. Mercury is configured with the Moon in the 10th house (in its debility in Scorpio) by opposition.
Profections and Revolutions
When the native died, profected sign of the year was Cancer which is the 6th house. The Moon is the ruler of the year and the Moon is debilitated in the 10th house of Scorpio. Saturn is debilitated in the revolutions as well, and the Moon in the revolution squares Saturn. Distributing planet, Mercury is placed in Aries in the revolutions and is placed with Ketu in the 10th house of the revolutions. Mercury and Ketu is a very difficult combination which clearly will destroy the well-being of the native because Mercury is in the 4th house of the nativity, which indicates the general well-being and comforts of the native.
The sign of Aries is quite prominent during the year because it turns out to be the most powerful angle of the revolutions (10th house). Saturn, the ruler of the Ascendant of the nativity is placed in Aries and hence, the prominence of Aries during the year also is as important as Cancer, which is quite obvious because Aries is one of the angles from the profected sign of the year.
The Moon, as the ruler of the year, doesn’t have much to cheer about in both nativity and revolutions. Fardãr Saturn is angular from the ruler of the year, the Moon, and hence, the manifestation of the event (death) is very literal. It is worth enough to remind you that Saturn also rules the lot of death in the nativity in Capricorn.
