Venus in Scorpio: Navigating Depth, Devotion, and Distraction

Venus in Scorpio enters its detriment because it occupies the sign opposite to its rulership, Taurus, and therefore is not entirely at ease. This does not mean anything is doomed. Venus in Scorpio signifies depth and intensity in relationships and in the expressions that arise through relationships. The weight and significance with which we approach matters pertaining to relationship, especially for those entering new relationships, will be noticeable. There is a possibility that these new bonds might occupy most of our time and attention, and we may almost begin living parallel lives with the person we are involved with. Adjusting our days for each other becomes natural and instinctive.
At times, there can be probing tendencies within relationships aimed at bringing greater transparency. Seeking honesty is good, yet it does not mean we should push someone into discomfort in order to secure that honesty. The need for transparency must be mutually acceptable and not enforced. There is a slight risk of forcing or being forced into something in the relationship that we would normally avoid. With Venus in Scorpio, we may sometimes compromise unnecessarily or allow ourselves to be drawn too far into something without remembering who we are.
For those who have Venus in Scorpio at birth, this transit marks the Venus return and brings back themes related to Venus in the natal chart, particularly the topics it rules. Matters such as relationships and comfort, along with Venus ruled topics in the individual chart, will come to prominence. Venus in Scorpio carries a natural charm that draws others toward us, but this is not always beneficial. The ease with which attraction occurs is almost guaranteed, but ensuring that the relationship is what it appears to be is essential. This must be a conscious effort before submitting ourselves entirely, because Venus in Scorpio tends to submit quickly and then regret the choice later.
The most important factor during this period is that Venus is squaring the Nodes of the Moon. This brings a deeply karmic presence into Venusian matters and introduces a sense of imbalance along with a noticeable pivot in the areas ruled by Venus in our lives. When Venus squares the Nodes, there is often a significant possibility of encountering someone from the past. The relationship, not necessarily romantic, may have faded for a variety of reasons, whether due to conflict or simply a natural divergence in each other’s paths. Yet this is a period when something that once belonged to our past may return or resurface in some manner.
We need qualify this as good or bad. What becomes essential is our ability to maintain composure and think carefully before committing to anything. There will be a strong pull created by Venus squaring Rahu, which can draw us towards something familiar from the past. At the same time, there will be an inner instinct urging caution and advising us to keep a certain distance caused by Venus squaring Ketu. This imbalance can feel frustrating, and it may be wiser to delay any major decisions regarding relationships, especially those involving past connections, until Venus moves out of Scorpio. Venus leaves Scorpio on 18 December 2025, and decisions taken after that point may be more balanced and less influenced by this Venus’ vulnerability due to the square with Rahu-Ketu.
Venus in Vishaka - 25 November 2025 to 27 November 2025
Venus in Vishakha encourages a sustained focus on one particular Venusian pursuit, whether it is a relationship or a creative project. This becomes advantageous if the pursuit itself is worthwhile, because it allows us to carry forward the refinement from Venus in Virgo and the balance achieved with Venus in Libra, and then channel those into the intensity of Venus in Scorpio. If the pursuit is more indulgent or not in alignment with our growth, it may present challenges. Therefore, mindfulness is necessary. If you are engaged in something creative or meaningful that strengthens your path, this becomes a supportive period and you can remain deeply focused.
Venus in Anuradha - 28 November to 8 December 2025
During Venus transit through Anuradha, devotion towards relationships and the need for consistency in expression become significant. Loyalty becomes a major expectation, although not everyone may think as we do. Imagine Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings, jumping into the lake to stay with Frodo because he had promised Gandalf that he would always look after him. This reflects the unwavering loyalty very much like Venus in Anuradha. When things turn against us, however, it may not be easy to handle and we may retreat into a shell, generalising all relationships based on one experience. Again using the narrative from the LOTR, consider how Samwise would have felt when Frodo believed Gollum’s lie about the elven bread, accusing Sam of betrayal. Yet Sam returns to save Frodo from the orcs in Mordor. Although the act of fighting is more related to Mars, the devotion is purely Venus in Anuradha. It does not fade.
Through all this, there is always a small possibility of drifting away from essential tasks due to unexpected or unnecessary distractions. It becomes important to stay committed to what we must accomplish and avoid minor diversions, because Mars in Scorpio provides a powerful opportunity to channel energy internally. The Sun provides the necessary awareness. Venus in Anuradha also supports the practice of self love and encourages us to comfort our inner self through focus on what is meaningful, while still honouring the perspectives of others.
Venus in Jyestha - 9 December 2025 to 18 December 2025
Venus in Jyestha can be an interesting period, with tendencies to overreach because of certain expectations, or to experience jealousy regarding what others possess. A positive manifestation is similar to Thorin Oakenshield gifting the Mithril coat to Bilbo before the Battle of Five Armies. Thorin gives generously, yet simultaneously suspects someone of stealing the Arkenstone. This helps us understand Venus in Jyestha, where generosity and suspicion coexist. We must consciously avoid unnecessary negative thoughts and continue forward. The only real harm that can arise is what we create ourselves by allowing distractions to take over the time we have left in the year.
Creative arts and projects gain intensity during this period, though not necessarily rapid progress. This is a time to dive deeper into ongoing endeavours. With Mercury retrograde, we have opportunities to course correct and reflect on what requires adjustment. For example, I have had challenges with my productivity setup, and as I am still new to full-time astrology, I am learning many things such as accounting and managing productivity tools. This Mercury retrograde, though challenging, has been a significant learning curve. Now with Venus entering Scorpio, it suggests an intense focus not for short term gain but with a vision of the future. This is a positive sign. We must continue to trust the process and avoid seeking immediate results. This retrograde period emphasises steady movement. Every small step is progress.
The Chosen Moment
I decided to include a possible election in every weekly letter I send. At times, I may not be able to share an election if the timing does not permit or if there is no truly good election to recommend. An election refers to an auspicious or favourable moment that you can use to do something productive or meaningful.
Besides, this I write my astrological reflections, learnings from life and a special section called Inward Glance. As part of Inward Glance, I am currently retelling Epictetus' Discourses in a digestible manner that's relevant to our everyday lives. If you are interested you can subscribe to my weekly letters. Please be sure that I don't spam and I don't send sales only letters and that's why I don't call this as "Newsletters". I send it because I love to share my thoughts from time to time.
