New Moon - May 30, 2022

Updated: Jul 2, 2022

Personal note: With so many changes taking place in my life, presenting the monthly Chakra dasa analysis of the Sun’s ingress turned out to be difficult. However, I thought I should write about the New Moon chart as a substitute. I will get back to normal by mid-July.

The New Moon is Jupiter’s bound of Taurus. Jupiter’s bound of Taurus as Valens says: great-hearted, bold, lucky, ruling & beneficent, magnanimous, temperate, living modesty. In a mundane context, we could relate this to the increase in acceptance of the refugees from Ukraine into other countries. Certainly some nations have been bold in taking a stand against the US and there certainly might be a scenario concerning this change in the world order.

Libra was rising during the New Moon which puts the Moon in the 8th house of the New Moon chart. Mercury is in Taurus too but very early into the sign. Saturn is in the 5th house presenting a whole sign square with the Sun, the Moon and Mercury. Mercury is very tightly squared by Saturn. This indicates a turning point in the global trade situation. There might be some structural changes and Mercury besides trades also indicates currency, money and banks. Mercury in the 8th house poses emphasis on other people’s money. From a global perspective, this might mean other country’s money. Obviously a lot has happened in Asia with regards to handling other nation’s money. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have succumbed to the debt with China.

The ruler of the Ascendant, Venus is placed in the 8th house (Detriment) of Aries with no support from Mars. Venus rules both the 1st and the 8th houses. One tough factor is that Venus is placed in the nodal axis. As Venus nears Rahu we could be in for some scandal breaking out. Venus, the dispositor of the 8th house planets is placed in the 7th house (angular) but it is also a natural maraka house. The good news is that the maraka Mars (2-7 ruler) is actually in the 6th house which gives negative+negative=positive. Mars is a functional malefic and it is further placed in the 6th house which is in aversion from the 1st house and hence, Mars can hardly bring any harm. Moreover, it also afflicts Jupiter to some extent and it is not a bad thing because Jupiter rules the 3rd and the 6th houses which are not auspicious rulerships. Another way of looking at it is, Mars gets benefic configuration by being in conjunction with Jupiter.

I had mentioned in many of my previous posts that oil will continue to be the primary focus for a very long time due to the great conjunction. Even in the New Moon chart, the 8th house is so prominent - 8th house is oil. With the New Moon in the 8th house, along with Mercury it only indicates that the trend is not dying down.

The 10th house is aspected by Jupiter and the 10th ruler, the Moon is in the 8th house. The Moon is dark and it is not auspicious, The Moon’s placement in the 8th house makes it all the more vulnerable for the kings (rulers) to get into psychological pressures. However, because of dignity, they might find a way out of the problems that they might get into because the Moon is exalted in Taurus. Having said, it doesn’t stop the roller-coaster ride. This month seems to promise extremes but nothing like the Saturn-Mars conjunction build up in March and April.

Peace!
